Singin’ in the Rain

Based on one of the most celebrated and beloved films of all time starring the inimitable Gene Kelly, Singin’ in the Rain is set in 1920’s Hollywood during the waning days of the silent film era. This zany, light-hearted romantic comedy focuses on romantic lead Don Lockwood, his sidekick Cosmo Brown, aspiring actress Kathy Selden, and Lockwood’s leading lady Lina Lamont, who’s less-than-appealing vocal tones make her an unlikely candidate for stardom in talking pictures. You will want to kick your feet up as you’re transported to yesteryear in this dazzling production.

PRESIDENT'S PERSPECTIVE

A very Happy New Year to all Honeywell Retiree’s. The Honeywell Board of Directors and Committee Members are looking forward to a very exciting 2012.

In January we will have a tour of the Arizona Science Center chaired by Vic Fragnito. We will also share an event with SRC, at the Arizona Broadway Theater: Singin’ in the Rain.

In February we have a fun day planned at Turf Paradise with an excellent all you can eat buffet luncheon. This will be chaired by Harry Heller. Mark your calendar for February 21 to attend the Identity Theft and Fraud Seminar chaired by Nadine Arney. The Phoenix Police Department will speak about how seniors are being targeted by the “bad guys.”

In March many retirees will be on a round trip Princess Cruise from Los Angeles to Hawaii. This event is chaired by Barbara Rippstein. Also in March we will be attending a Spring Training Baseball Game and will have our Spring Pot Luck Luncheon.

Circle your calendar for April 26 for the annual breakfast meeting. We are once again fortunate to have Mr. Tim Mahoney, President and Chief Executive Officer from Honeywell Aerospace as our keynote speaker. Honeywell Aerospace includes three main businesses: Air Transport and Regional, Business and General Aviation, and Defense and Space. Come and join us for an update on Honeywell and a good breakfast at the Iron Works Restaurant. This event is chaired by Jane Bilyeu.

We are trying to reduce the mailing costs for “The Bridge.” If you have a computer and have not signed up yet to receive the Bridge electronically, please consider doing so to help us reduce the mailing costs.

Nominations are open for new Board members, as well as committee chairs. If you are interested in serving on the Board, please contact the co-chairs, Tom Turner 480 502 1986 or Harry Heller 623 3632 2159. It is only one meeting a month for a couple of hours. Lot’s of fun, too.
