PRESIDENT'S PERSPECTIVE

The HRC Board has tried to put together some very interesting events for retirees this year. Unfortunately, so far the turnout has been very disappointing. The Four Peaks Brewery Tour only had 8 attendees. The Volunteers for St Mary’s Food Bank only had 15 signed up and our goal was 50. The Christmas Party so far only has 36 reservations. To have a successful Honeywell Retirees’ Organization we need to have your participation. Please review the Calendar of Events for 2011 and 2012 and plan to attend as many events as possible.

The Honeywell/Sperry Christmas Dinner/Dance reservations are limited, so if you do plan to attend, please call Don Peeples as soon as possible at 602-548-1904 or e-mail him at azpeeples@aol.com and reserve a spot. If you wish to sit with friends, you can also reserve a table for 10. When the reservations reach 175 they will be gone. We share reservations with the Sperry Retiree Club and so far they have over 62 advance reservations. Check out the menu in the Bridge.

We have several members that are delinquent in paying their dues. Please check your last Bridge and your renewal date will be listed on the cover. You would not want to miss out on getting a copy of the Bridge.

Important date: Are you Ready? Medicare enrollment period is October 15 to December 7.

Special Note: Enjoy the simple things. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. And if you have a friend who makes you laugh spend lots and lots of time with him or her.

Shirley Krieger

PAST EVENTS

FOUR PEAKS BREWERY TOUR - SEPTEMBER

Eight people participated in the Four Peaks Brewery Tour. Our host for the tour was Dustin Hazer, the Brewer at Four Peaks, who gave us an in depth tour and explanation of the brewing process. This was the most comprehensive tour we have had of the brewery. And of course, the beer was great and the sandwiches were excellent. We may have been a small group, but we had a great time.

With the addition of several very large fermentation vessels, Four Peaks Brewery has expanded considerably since our last visit. They have also added a canning capability for some their best selling beers.
