The Bridge

                  Feb.2003

President's Perspective

Our fiscal and social season only runs for another three months. We still have several events before we end this year. On February 11-12 we will have a bus trip to Laughlin. Next is an informal discussion meeting on the subject of photography on Tuesday, February 25th. In March, we hope to take a tour of the Federal Courthouse/US Marshall's Office. Our Annual Meeting has been tentatively scheduled for April 22nd. Finally, on May 12th we will have our spring golf outing.

We want to thank Dr. Ramsey Madany for his very informative and interesting presentation of the history, and issues of today, that are affecting the Middle East. Those of us that attended left the meeting with a better understanding of the religious and political problems affecting that very volatile area.

Also, in this issue of the Bridge, you will find a ballot for the Officers and Directors for the year 2003/2004. Many of the officers are running for another term. There are three new directors on the ballot, and we anticipate that they will be a very positive and valuable addition to the organization. Send in your ballot as soon as possible, and the results will be announced at the April Annual Meeting.

ADDITIONAL GOOD NEWS---As mentioned last month, HRC now has it's own web site. Everyone can find us at -- hrcaz.org. The site is now active and we will add information regularly. Due to the extremely wide exposure of a web site, we will not publish email addresses, new retirees or the memoria from The Bridge. This is done to protect everyone's privacy. Again, thanks to R. Henzel, E. Frick, D. Roeber and W. Doyle for their efforts to bring this feature to you.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the activities planned for the next months.
