Tips
for readers of the
eBridge
BACKGROUND
eBridge
delivery may be prevented by
spam filters, especially in
your mail provider's incoming
mail server and in the mail
app on your computer if you
use one. You can access your
mail provider's mail server by
using the webmail interface
they supply, such as
mail.google.com, mail.aol.com,
icloud.com/mail, or
webmail.cox.net. You can also
optionally access it by using
a mail app on your computer,
which may not be from your
mail provider; for example,
you might have a Cox, Gmail or
Yahoo mail account, but use
Outlook, Windows Mail, or
Apple Mail as your mail app.
Each has its own spam
filtering, so you need to go
to each to look for your
eBridge in the spam/junk
folder, and to prevent your
eBridge from being blocked.
WHAT TO DO
If
your eBridge does not arrive
by mid-month, look in the
spam/junk and trash folders both
in your mail provider's
webmail, and in your mail app
if you use one. If you find
it, mark it as not spam and/or
move it to the inbox to
"train" the spam filter to
allow messages from this
address.
If your mail can be sorted
into tabs or folders such as
Outlook's "focused" "other"
and "clutter," look in these
too.
If you do not find it, try
webmail on a different
computing device, such as
desktop, laptop, tablet or
smartphone, and/or try a
different browser.
To reduce the chances of an
eBridge being blocked by your
mail provider's spam filter on
their mail server, do the
following:
(1) Go to webmail and put
emadmin@hrcaz.org in your mail
account's contacts and allow
list, AKA safe or trusted
senders list or white list.
(2) Check it is not on your
blocked senders list.
(3) Ensure your mail account
is not set to delete suspected
spam without telling you.
(4)Ensure there is a long
delay before trash or spam
folders are emptied so you
have time to find a missing
eBridge. AOL fixes these at 7
and 30 days respectively, but
30 days for both is better for
finding missing emails, and
some mail systems let the user
choose.
Then, if you use a mail app,
repeat all four steps in it
too.
Ample advice is available,
such as whitelist.guide,
which has instructions for
most mail providers. (Scroll
to find your provider's icon;
don't use the search.)
finally, if you have a
firewall such as
microsoft/Windows Defender, or
anti-virus software such as
Mcafee or Norton, ensure it is
not set up so it could block
email you want to receive.

Updates
The Event Schedule is updated
each time the Bridge is published, and whenever
event updates are received at hotline@hrcaz.org.
The ARCHIVES page, updated approximately
monthly during the active part of the club year,
contains a variety of recent and memory-lane items,
including back issues of the online Bridge, photo
galleries, minutes of board meetings and reports
from the treasurer and website manager.
Occasional updates are
made to:
- The USEFUL LINKS
page, which has information on other Honeywell
retiree clubs, senior discounts, medical &
health (including resources
to help with medical insurance problems)
and genealogy, as well as a Honeywell dashboard
with a variety of information about the
company\97financial news, general news and
patents.
- The PHOENIX
AREA ATTRACTIONS page, which has
information on a wide variety of local
attractions, parks & preserves,
spectator sports, performing arts,
cultural history, museums, art galleries,
and, of course "miscellaneous."
See the Site Map for an
overview of all the information on this
website.
Please let us know at hotline@hrcaz.org, if you
have any suggestions for additions or
improvements to any of these pages, or
if you find something that needs correcting.
These are the kinds of activities that HRSC has:
The
Honeywell Retiree Social Club of Arizona
(HRSC) extends a warm welcome to all Honeywell
retirees who worked for Honeywell in the state of
Arizona. This includes retirees from
organizations that merged with Honeywell or were
at one point part of Honeywell; for example, see
the logos in the header above. Our purpose
is to help you maintain contact with your retired
Honeywell associates and to provide a variety of
information and activities of interest.
To
do this, HRSC provides many social activities so
that friendships can be renewed and maintained on a
regular basis. These include picnics, luncheons,
horse race meetings, golf outings, tours, cruises,
trips, museum visits, and lecture/discussion
meetings on a variety of subjects.
Many
people have fond memories of interaction with their
associates and loss of contact with them is one of
the drawbacks of retirement. We encourage all
retirees to participate in these activities to
renew, maintain and expand contact with people they
have come to know well over the years and to form
new friendships with others in the Honeywell family.
HRSC
publishes a newsletter, The Bridge, 9
times a year, which is distributed to members in
electronic form, and in paper form for members
unable to receive email. Membership costs $5 per
year, and the membership year ends on April 30. To
join, click the "Membership
Application/Renewal/Change" button at the left side
of this page, and pay by credit or debit card.
(You will also be offered an option to pay by
check.) Please consider paying for multiple years to
save time and money for yourself and HRSC.
Honeywellers who leave Arizona after retirement are
welcome to join or continue membership and receive The
Bridge.
The club is a
social network of Honeywell retirees and as such
does not deal with pension, health care or other
benefits. Please direct these questions to the
Honeywell Retirement Service Center at 1 800 526
0744 or honeywell.com/retiree.
