Aloha from Kauai, Hawaii. Sorry I missed seeing all of you at Oktoberfest, but I understand the food was delicious and fun was had by all. Don Peeples is still taking reservations for the Honeywell/Sperry Christmas Dinner/Dance on December 8. Call Don before all the reservation are gone. This year we have a limited number to ensure we won’t have a crowded ballroom this year. The menu is in the Bridge.
Francis Cartwright has put together a very informative Financial Seminar to be held on November 17 at Briarwood Country Club. Free refreshments will be served. The topics to be covered are listed in the Bridge. This seminar will be strictly educational. Call him at 623-492-0200 and make your reservation.
Sperry Retiree’s Club will host a trip to Castle Casino on November 9. The trip is free with bus transportation and you get $10.00 to enjoy. Call Yolanda Brown at 623-972-3970 and make a reservation.
On January 27 Victor Fragnito will host a trip the Arizona Science Center. If we have enough retiree’s attending we will get a reduced admission fee, but he needs to make the reservations 3 weeks ahead of time to get the discount. Send your check in by December 31, 2011.

We are planning a trip to the Arizona Science Center. To receive the reduced admission fee, we need to pay for our reservations 3 weeks ahead of time, you will need to make reservations and send in your check by December 31. Please make your reservations early so that we can be assured that we have enough people attending to receive the group rate. This group rate only covers general admission to the museum. Phoenix Police Detective Robert Weigler will speak about identity theft and various other types of fraud which are used to target senior citizens. Topics will include phishing; various types of fraud through email solicitation and phony websites included in those emails; pop-ups with promises of something free with purchase; websites that look identical to the real thing but are not; and identity theft in general.
There will be time for questions and answers at the end of his presentation.

16 People worked for about 3 hours and processed 6216 pounds of food. Each pound of food processed is the equivalent of 1 meal.
We had a great day for the Oktoberfest. It was a bit breezy, but otherwise the weather was great. Again, we were entertained by Leigh Dechaine playing his accordion. The food and the company were great, but only 44 people showed up.
